As you know, these are critical times for the state of our planet. This is why, now more than ever, green initiatives play a key role in our future. With our unique approach to roofing and use of sustainable roofing materials, we are doing our part for this movement in several ways:
Contractors that tear off and replace roofs unnecessarily dump the old roofs (tons of material) into landfills. We do all we can to make use of existing roofs that usually have plenty of life left.
Dark-colored roofs absorb the sun's heat, which is then transferred into the building. White roofs reflect the sun's heat, significantly reducing the strain on the AC system. Clients that invest in a reflective "Cool Roof" typically see a 10-20% reduction in cooling costs.
Albedo refers to a measure of how much of the Sun’s energy is reflected off an object and back into space, compared to how much is trapped in Earth’s atmosphere.
Snow, ice and white roofs have a high albedo and reflect more of the Sun’s energy back to space, which has a cooling effect on the Earth and reduces the “Greenhouse Effect.“
